Other Organisations
Below is a list of organisations the IHS supports and works alongside. These organisations all support the reptile keeping hobby. More details can be found on each below.

Responsible Reptile Keeping
RRK is a worldwide membership organisation that aims to promote, support and protect responsible reptile keeping. The IHS is proud is to be supporting them in the fantastic work they do.
RRK broadcast free digital and printed media content that advocates effective husbandry and high welfare standards.
RRK also seek to oppose and refute those who aim to curtail responsible keeping through their use of misinformation and bias.
Responsible Reptile Keeping helps reptiles, keepers and businesses live better.

REPTA
The majority of REPTA’s output often goes unseen working to advise government on REPTA related issues to help steer and adapt policy change proposals. REPTA also develops considered and thorough analysis to be able to present to government to illustrate our interests. REPTA engages with a range of working groups that also report to government. REPTA is a member of organisations such as CASC (Companion Animal Sector Council) and PAAG (Pet Advertising Advisory Group).
REPTA is a trade organisation but has strong ties to the hobby wing of herpetoculture and regularly consults with the FBH (Federation of British Herpetologists). This helps to ensure the most joined up approach regarding the protection of our entire sector.
REPTA also works closely with Responsible Reptile Keeping which has revolutionised the journalistic approach to dealing with reptile related issues worldwide. This allows REPTA to have a more effective voice across the social media landscape and maintain support.
The IHS has adopted REPTA policies such as the deleterious gene policy, banning a number of morphs from all shows we run.

The Federation of British Herpetologists
The Federation of British Herpetologists was formed in 1996 to unite, represent and protect private reptile and amphibian keepers in the UK.
Headed and supported by specialist and experienced herpetologists from across Britain the FBH exists to promote and support the responsible keeping of reptiles and amphibians. The FBH is an umbrella organisation to which the majority of herpetological societies are affiliated and it represents the largest collective of experienced amateur and professional keepers in the UK.
The FBH is frequently consulted by national and international authorities in relation to impending regulation and to provide fair and balanced advice. We also work closely with responsible animal welfare organisations, and with local and national government regulatory bodies.
