Why Join the IHS?

As a member, you will receive a monthly newsletter with reptile related news and important updates. In addition, you will also receive The Herptile quarterly which is our magazine packed with informative and interesting articles written by people within the hobby and our members.

Other perks include earlier and half price entry into the shows (the largest in the country). On occasion members also get into the shows for free but this is done at the organisers discretion on the day. Members also have the ability to trade at the shows.

You will also be supporting the largest reptile society in the UK and have access to our member run branches which is a great way of getting involved with the community.

When do the memberships run from?

All memberships run from 1st January to 31st December

Members joining or renewing before 1st December will be enrolled for the current year and will receive any back issues of the Herptile that are available for that year.

Members joining or renewing after 1st December will be enrolled for the following year (Membership will run from 1st January following enrolment).

Membership Options

Important: Last day to purchase memberships online or over the phone before a show is the Tuesday before the show.  Cards will be shipped the Wednesday but we cannot guarantee delivery due to Royal Mail.

No Card, No Entry in member line. 

  • Single (UK) £24.00

    Allows ONE person to attend Breeders Meetings and their children (up to age 16).

  • Family (UK) £27.00

    Allows TWO adults and their children (up to age 16) to attend Breeders Meetings.
    (Adults must reside at the same postal address.)

  • Business (UK) £40.00

    Allows FOUR adults only to attend a Breeders’ Meeting.
    (A business membership ONLY entitles the business OWNER to Membership of the society. People with Business Membership may only sell dry / fancy goods at a Breeders’ Meeting NOT livestock.)

  • Overseas & Europe £32.00

    Family or Single membership.

Please choose which membership is most suitable for you carefully. Whilst it is possible to upgrade your membership at a later date, such upgrades will be liable for an administration charge of £2. For example – upgrading to Family from Single would cost £3 plus the administration charge making a total of £5).

By Post

Download the Membership Application Form then print off, complete and send by post enclosing your cheque for the required amount.

By Telephone

Call 01274 548342 to give your contact details and pay over the telephone using your credit / debit card. Only call between 9am and 6.30pm (please try to avoid calling on Sundays)

Online

Pay securely using Paypal. To do so, simply choose your membership type from the drop-down menu below and click the ‘Pay Now’ button.

Your membership details will be taken from those on your PayPal account (Name, address etc).

You will receive a membership card in the post. Your PayPal receipt is confirmation of purchase.
